Technical Details

The best way to proceed troubleshooting connetcion issue is with a spare disk with a fresh pci-expres of Mac OS X on it. Recently, due to escalating prices on other boards, I have started testing a SIL based controller and set it up according to Dan's method. The numbers come out about the same as when it was defined as a SiI Concatentation logical disk.

But it was quiet and fast. I was able to boot the other unused disk, but that had a very old OS image by now. Ships from and sold by Tk. The controller card is backward compatible with SATA 2. Verify that the units have firmware 1.

Was going to wait until they tested it some more, since I was not having trouble other than running CDM where the system always BSOD'ed or rebooted at the last write test. Slap it in the T love all the extra power connectors. Switched the Wildfire with the M changed E: View answer in context. The issue appears to be the result of this controller card being inherently configured to allow an attached hard drive also be the OS boot drive.

Better than another BSOD and losing work. Finally hunted down and updated Marvell driver but it made no difference.

Well ok, conbection ran a bit warm since this beast sucks up about watts. BSOD again after inserting card; don't understand pre-installation instructions which indicate OS needs to be reinstalled to install driver.

Recovery code can't see Intel SSD.
